Queries Sent to Search Providers
A name or place entered into a search box is transmitted to the outside provider that operates that tool. We do not keep or log those query terms on our own systems. The provider’s privacy terms govern its handling of the query.
Messages You Send
If you email us or submit a contact message, we retain the contents and contact details as needed to respond. We do not share a message outside our organization unless the law requires it.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Routine server, analytics, and advertising systems may record technical information when a page loads, including:
- your Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device category and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent on them;
- the referring page or site, when supplied; and
- the date and time of the request.
Cookies and Similar Storage

Reasons We Use Information

Sites Beyond Our Control
Links lead to the Allegany County roster, Sheriff and Detention Center pages, Maryland court and corrections portals, news sources, and outside search tools. Once you follow a link, that operator’s privacy notice governs its collection and use of information.
Some advertising partners may measure activity across different sites to select ads. That tracking occurs through their systems and under their policies, not as a database maintained by us.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may nevertheless be processed by:
- search partners that receive submitted queries;
- analytics providers that measure site activity;
- advertising networks that deliver and evaluate ads; and
- law-enforcement or government authorities acting under a valid legal order.
Security Is Best Effort
We use customary safeguards intended to protect information in our control. No website, network, or storage system connected to the internet can be guaranteed free from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. We therefore cannot promise breach-proof security.
